I watched some Youtube videos of this, looks really cool, I'd love to try it. It doesn't strike me as a legit workout though, guy just seemed to be wagging his arms around. We have the Wii for that "workout", hehe.
I agree, along with the full arm motion gestures you are doing to a fast beat, especially if its to a song you love, the harder levels have you ducking and dodging walls which is in effect performing lunges and squats! dont pass judgement until you tried it, as with a lot of VR and Shane's opinion I beleive, you gotta experience it as VR is an experience. I dont believe it will replace gaming as we know it, but it adds ALOT of fun to a gaming experience. I love Beat Saber but havent tried custom songs yet so I am looking forward to experiencing the VR world with you Shane
Had a chance to play a handful of the custom songs on Sunday. They ones I played are fine, but I felt like they could be better. I also wonder if a drummer came up with a number of them, since on some of them it feels like you're sitting in front of a drum set, and not really moving around. Overall, it's a great experience to be able to play the music you like rather than just the standard set, but the ones that come with it are very polished. I really liked Beat It, and I loved when the bombs come at you, I literally said "ooh" when MJ does. I'm looking forward to seeing what you are able to put out there Shane!
